The Bell 222 was Bell Helicopter's twin-turbine civilian executive helicopter, first flown on August 13, 1976. The type entered service in 1980 and was Bell's first all-new commercial helicopter design in decades. The 222 became iconic as the base airframe for the Airwolf television series. Total production reached approximately 188 airframes.
