Yes — a real RC-style transmitter is exactly what you want for realistic flight. You can also fly with touch, keyboard, or any gamepad / Xbox controller, but regular gamepads self-center the throttle, which is wrong for planes. A dedicated USB simulator transmitter (around $30–40 on Amazon) gives you a ratcheted throttle and proper stick feel and works on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android.
That said, we designed the simulator to be genuinely enjoyable and easy to control on phones with touch — so you can fly on the go!
