About

The Yakovlev Yak-54 is the Russian two-seat unlimited-aerobatic monoplane that first flew on December 23, 1993, designed by Dmitry Drach and Vladimir Popov as a development of the single-seat Yak-55M. This RC implementation is from Aeroworks, an American RC manufacturer specializing in giant-scale aerobatic ARFs, in a striking all-black livery — high-contrast against blue sky for maximum visibility during competition figures.

The unmistakable Russian-aerobat silhouette — pugnacious, short-coupled, with the classic Yakovlev flat-bottomed cowling — carries through regardless of paint scheme. A natural sibling of the Yak 54 32 Percent (3D Planes pack), NEO Planes 56 inch Yak 54 (CV Planes Pack 5), and the broader Yak family across the catalog.

In the simulator

The same demanding heavyweight character as the other Yak-54 variants — substantial inertia, generous control authority, and the kind of stable-but-aggressive handling Russian aerobatic competition was built on.
