The Extra 330 series followed the Extra 300 in Walter Extra's unlimited-aerobatic line. Extra 300 production ran 1988-1998, and the Extra 330 brought refinements in airframe construction, engine choice, and aerodynamic detail to the Extra Flugzeugbau lineup. Designed as a more refined unlimited-aerobatic mount than its predecessor, the Extra 330 has been flown in World Aerobatic Championship competition continuously since its introduction.

This RC implementation is from 3D Hobby Shop, an American RC manufacturer specializing in giant-scale 3D aerobatic ARFs. The "Red" suffix refers to one of the airframe's livery options. The unmistakable Extra silhouette — short-coupled, low-wing, with the long German aerobatic-aircraft snout — appears in countless modern RC scale flying. A natural sibling of the Extra 300 Red Bull (CV Planes Pack 2) and broader Extra family across the catalog.
