Hidden Mountain (Sedona) — one of the simulator's first panoramic landscapes, built two decades ago using Terragen, capturing Arizona's iconic red-rock landscape.
The Hidden Mountain landscape represents the Sedona area of Arizona — the iconic red-rock canyon country that has been one of the most photographed natural landscapes in the American Southwest. As one of the very first panoramic landscapes built into the simulator (alongside Sedona and Central Valley), Hidden Mountain was constructed roughly twenty years ago using Terragen, the procedural terrain rendering software from Planetside Software. The mountainous, dramatic terrain made the location an early showcase of the simulator's panoramic landscape capability.
A dramatic mountain-flying environment with the steep red-rock walls and high-altitude character of Arizona's canyon country. The complex terrain rewards careful flight planning and gives pilots scenic flying that few other simulator landscapes match.
